Eden Build is proud to announce its first Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) Award of Distinction, earning top honours for Best Home Renovation/Addition (up to $250,000) at the 2025 OHBA Awards Gala in Blue Mountain, Ontario.
This recognition celebrates Eden Build’s craftsmanship, design collaboration, and dedication to thoughtful renovation demonstrated through the Old Glenridge project in St. Catharines, part of the historic Niagara Region.
The Winning Project: Old Glenridge Home Renovation
This home renovation transformed a classic St. Catharines residence into a more functional, elegant living space while preserving its heritage character. The project was a collaborative effort between:

What began as a modest reconfiguration became a masterclass in balance of modern comfort integrated seamlessly into a historic structure.
Design That Redefined Space
The renovation addressed key flow and storage challenges. The kitchen layout was reimagined by enclosing an open back wall, creating a practical side entryway with custom cabinetry and bench seating. Relocating the sink to the island and centering the range along the back wall improved symmetry and visual harmony, while a full-height pantry added concealed storage.
In the bathroom, an underused shower was replaced with a custom vanity, turning an inefficient space into a functional powder room. Every detail was guided by the clients’ needs for efficient circulation, refined finishes, and cohesive design continuity.
Aesthetics Rooted in Heritage
The home’s refreshed interiors blend traditional craftsmanship with modern sensibility.
Soft greys, whites, and muted greens create a timeless palette complemented by medium-tone hardwood floors. Shaker-style cabinetry, quartz countertops, and classic tile backsplash provide subtle sophistication. Architectural millwork and wainscotting honour the home’s heritage, while layered lighting enhances both function and ambiance.
Innovation Through Subtlety
Rather than overhauling the home’s character, the team worked within the bones of the structure, modernizing through precision and design cohesion. Integrating old and new flooring, rebuilding subfloors, and restoring lath and plaster walls maintained authenticity. Even an immovable ceiling beam became a design feature through intentional cabinetry and lighting alignment.
