McCormack Home Addition in Thorold
renovation overview
RENOVATION TYPE:
Home addition with kitchen renovation
LOCATION:
Located in Thorold, a town that is home to the Welland Canal and has a blend of historic architecture and modern amenities. Thorold offers a charming, small-town atmosphere while being conveniently close to larger urban centers like St. Catharines and Niagara Falls.
MAIN CHALLENGES:
The original kitchen was outdated and lacked functionality. It had minimal counter space, insufficient storage, and an inefficient layout, which made cooking and daily tasks difficult for the homeowners. The back sunroom was also underutilized and deteriorating, adding no value to the home’s functionality. The homeowners wanted to create a more modern, open kitchen that better utilized the space and provided ample storage and preparation areas. The addition was designed to create a seamless flow between the kitchen and outdoor space, addressing the homeowners’ desire for more practical indoor-outdoor living.
